His Excellency Mr. Simplex Chitiola, Minister of Commerce of Malawi, called on Qatari investors and business owners to visit his country, to learn about the investment opportunities available in the sectors of agriculture, tourism, mining, power generation, infrastructure, food security, construction and other sectors. This came during a meeting with Mr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Obaidli, member of the Board of Directors of Qatar Chamber and Chairman of the Chamber’s Food Security and Environment Committee. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, and reviewed opportunities for investment in Malawi. Malawi’s Minister of Commerce expressed his country’s welcome to Qatari investments, pointing out that his country provides all the capabilities and logistical elements necessary for investment, and it also provides a package of incentives to facilitate business establishment procedures. For his part, Al-Obaidli said that the Chamber welcomes the strengthening of cooperation with the Malawian side, and it also encourages Qatari investors to invest in Africa in general because of the many and varied opportunities it provides in most sectors, and in Malawi in particular, pointing out that Qatari business owners are looking for real investment opportunities. Which is provided in light of the infrastructure and logistical services and ease of transportation of goods and merchandise, and they have a desire to identify investment opportunities in Malawi.
