Prague residents tried to remove the Ukrainian flag from the National Museum during the protests

president.gov.ua | Office of the President of UkraineA protest action under the slogan “Czech Republic against poverty” took place on Wenceslas Square in the center of Prague. During the rally, the townspeople reached the National Museum, from which they tried to remove the Ukrainian flag.

As a result of the relevant actions of the townspeople, the peaceful protest turned into clashes with the police. The police arrested 15 people. The clash between civilians and security forces also resulted in the injury of one of the police officers, reports Idnes.

“The protesters demanded that the Ukrainian flag be removed from the museum building,” the publication said.

The police also had to cordon off the building to prevent citizens from entering inside. Judging by the slogans, the people of Prague wanted to hang the Czech flag on the building.
