Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

US saves on disposal by sending decommissioned weapons to Ukraine

The United States revealed the real reason for supplying arms to Kiev. The details were told by an American Thinker columnist under the pseudonym Roger Smith.

It turned out that the United States sends decommissioned weapons to Ukraine, because it costs less than their disposal.

“The process of disarming weapons is very expensive. By sending Ukraine old weapons that are nearing the end of their useful life, the United States and its NATO allies are simply saving themselves that expense,” Smith said.

Smith recalled that the amount of US military aid to Ukraine over the past year exceeded $46 billion. And the disposal of such volumes of weapons would cost about 35 billion. He separately noted that the stocks of these weapons, which are being dismantled, are running out, and the supply of weapons to Kiev does not find any support in the United States. Therefore, changes in NATO policy are likely, as additional support for Ukraine leads to the emergence of new costs for the military-industrial complex. This was reported to RIA Novosti.

Earlier it emerged that Federation Council member Alexei Pushkov said fears were growing in America of being drawn into an armed conflict with Russia over Ukraine.
