The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines announced on Thursday that the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Unilab Foundation in the Philippines are partnering to launch AMDeⅴ, a five-year advanced skills development program for manufacturing workers. The total project cost is 10.6 million dollars (622 million pesos), half of which will be privately financed by Unilab Foundation, Makati Business Club, Amherst Laboratories and others. The beneficiaries of the program are Filipino workers in the manufacturing industry, who hone their skills through on-the-job training and other opportunities, as well as opportunities for teachers and students working at educational institutions near manufacturing sites to participate in skills training.
