Competitor of journalists: a robotic presenter has appeared in China

In addition to the impressive “baggage of knowledge”, the presenter is distinguished by an unprecedented capacity for work. The new “face” of the newspaper’s online application can work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and does not need paid holidays, let alone weekends.

“I will report the news all year round, 24 hours a day, without rest,” Ms. Ren proudly proclaims in the welcome video. According to the TV presenter, she plans to “go live” from both the “studio” and the “stage” and will be able to cover any topic. However, neither Ren’s creators nor herself say if the virtual girl will search for news on her own or if a human editor will be assigned to her.
Either way, the robotic presenter craves feedback from viewers, saying it will help her become smarter. The “girl’s” need for enlightenment is not accidental: attentive users note that at the moment it will not be possible to establish a constructive dialogue with Ms. Ren. The fact is that she only prepared answers to a number of questions related to the results of the “two sessions” that recently ended in China.

Thus, a “Chinese woman” can talk about education, advanced technologies, tax cuts, employment, the “Belt and Road” initiative, and many other topics. But asking your own question to a digital presenter won’t work. Nevertheless, the People’s Daily “employee of the year”, who appeared in public in a classic cut black jacket against the backdrop of skyscrapers, looks quite realistic.
