Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Sberbank told about a new online fraud scheme

Recently, online scammers started using a new system that allows them to hack users’ personal accounts in online stores, Sberbank said in a statement.

In this scheme, the scammers would operate under the pretext of the need to make a “return of funds for an erroneous payment”. Users who recently received an order from online stores receive calls from scammers who previously hacked into their personal account. Posing as employees of online stores, they talk about the need to return funds, as well as repeat the “payment”, this time to their own details.

To avoid loss of funds, users of online stores are advised not to enter into such dialogues, but to contact the business network themselves using the phone number given on the official website. It is also recommended to use complex passwords and use two-factor authentication.
