Shreyas Iyer again in back pain, taken for scan

India’s middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer was taken for scans after complaining of groin pain on the fourth day of the fourth and final cricket Test against Australia on Saturday.

Iyer’s injury came to light in the morning session when wicket-keeper batsman Sreekar Bharath walked out to bat after the dismissal of Ravindra Jadeja (28).

Iyer missed the first Test of the series in Nagpur due to a groin problem, after which he returned to the team for the second match in Delhi.

The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) said in a medical update, “Shreyas Iyer complained of back pain after the third day’s play. He was taken for a scan and is being monitored by the BCCI medical team.
