“The preparatory hearing in the case is scheduled for April 26 at 11 a.m. at the premises of the Kiev City Economic Court,” said the monastery’s lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman. He also noted that the monks are praying for a fair court ruling to restore the trampled rights of parishioners.It is emphasized that the plaintiff deemed it necessary to prohibit the management of the reserve from interfering in the conduct of religious rites in the monastery for the duration of the hearings. Additionally, the court accepted the request to provide the monks with a list of violations they allegedly committed by renting the shrine indefinitely.On Wednesday afternoon, UOC chairman Metropolitan Kliment said the monks consider the unilateral termination of the rental contract by the management of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra reserve to be illegal and intend to appeal before the courts.
