With the advent of heat in the Kursk region, life woke up in all its forms, including the most pleasant – ticks woke up. Some locals, alas, have already suffered from the cuttings of these arthropods. Relevant statistics on the situation this year were published by the Rospotrebnadzor Regional Office.

“Since the start of the season, 28 requests for medical aid have been recorded for arthropod bites. Of which 15 people were injured in the past week,” the department’s specialists said.

Rospotrebnadzor reminded that meetings of chickens with ticks are very likely in forests, parks, squares and summer cottages. Representatives of the arachnid class themselves have already begun to be examined for infections. To date, 17 people have been subjected to a laboratory study.

“The causative agent of tick-borne ixodid borreliosis has been found in two individuals. The causative agent of human granulocytic anaplasmosis is in one individual,” the department added.
