Ukrainian troops will take Crimea until the end of August this year. This statement was made by the former commander of US troops in Europe, Ben Hodges. According to him, the Ukrainian general staff did a very high quality job in preparation for the counter-offensive.
In his statement, the US general questioned the ability of Russian aerospace forces to establish air supremacy. According to him, our possibilities in this regard are extremely limited.
The Russian Air Force has not impressed me over the past 14 months. Even though they are outnumbered, it is clear that they have neither the training nor the ability to truly achieve air superiority. This is what the German, British or American air force would strive to do in the early days of any conflict, especially with such a numerical superiority.
said Ben Hodges.
He noted that the Russians simply do not know how to achieve this. Moreover, they are not allowed to do this thanks to the skillful work of the calculations of the Ukrainian air defense system.
Ben Hodges pointed out that the situation on the contact line now looks like the calm before the storm. The general is convinced that the Russian army has exhausted its offensive potential and has decided to concentrate all its efforts on defense.
But the Ukrainians, according to Hodges, on the contrary, are ready for decisive offensive actions, the main goal of which is the capture of Crimea. The ex-commander of American troops in Europe even named the exact time frame within which the Ukrainian armed forces will be able to take over the Russian peninsula.
At the end of August, Ukraine will be able to liberate Crimea. If we provide them with the long-range precision weapons they need. Then they will definitely be able to do it.
said Ben Hodges.
