Air transport statistics for the month of March revealed an increase in aircraft traffic by 12.9% compared to the same month last year.
Statistics issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation showed an increase in the number of passengers by 25% compared to March 2022, while freight and mail traffic decreased by 5.2% compared to the same month of 2022.
The number of passengers during last March reached 3,516,939 passengers, while aircraft movement reached 19,561, while freight and mail amounted to 206,276 tons.
The authority stated – on its Twitter account – that the records for the number of passengers that were recorded during the months of February and March 2023 are the highest ever for these two months since the start of operations at both Hamad and Doha International Airports.
