‘Before, not after’: US scientists claim to have created an effective hangover drug
In the United States, scientists have created a probiotic that helps escape hangovers, writes the Daily Mail.
The drug, as described in the document, is developed in the form of a tablet containing genetically modified bacteria. The bacterium, according to research, regulates the synthesis of acetaldehyde, a by-product released during alcohol consumption and responsible for unpleasant sensations, i.e. a hangover.
To help scientists, as usual, the mice “volunteered” themselves – the results of the study on them were recognized as successful. Future human trials.
Taking the pill, as pointed out, should be before the party, not after drinking alcohol.
In the future, the probiotic could be used to “reduce liver and gut damage” from excessive alcohol consumption.
