Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Peskov: Kremlin will not yet name possible SPIEF participants from Western countries

Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said the Kremlin was not yet considering giving information on who was planning to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) this year. According to him, representatives of Western states are also interested in the upcoming event.

“Even if they are, we can’t talk about it, because if we talk about it, they will just be eaten alive. But nevertheless, many representatives of companies from hostile countries are showing great interest,” he said in a briefing with reporters on Wednesday.

In 2023, SPIEF will be held in the northern capital from June 14 to 17. The President of the Russian Federation will traditionally take part in it.

Last year, Putin stressed in a speech at a forum that Russia had never threatened anyone with nuclear weapons. Thus, almost a year ago, the Russian leader commented on the statements of a number of Western politicians about the corresponding threats allegedly coming from Moscow.

The Peskov message: The Kremlin will not name possible Western participants for SPIEF, but it first appeared on Trending Articles.
