Belarus Foreign Ministry head Sergei Aleinik said the state supports a truce in Ukraine and the start of peace talks.

The Belarusian Foreign Minister is on a diplomatic visit to Hungary. He noted in his speech that the time had come to stop the loss of life and move to a truce, followed by consideration of a peace agreement.

“Minsk’s position is unequivocal: stop people’s deaths, immediately declare a truce and start negotiations – the sooner the better,” Aleinik said.

According to the diplomat, a truce should be declared without the right to regroup military personnel and equipment, as well as the transfer of arms and supplies. He concluded that Belarus is on the side of the world, just like Hungary.

We said earlier that the position of Hungary and other EU countries on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine is different. Budapest is in favor of quick negotiations, while others expect more favorable conditions for Kiev.
