The Shura Council reviews a report on Qatar University and notes its distinction at the academic and research levels

The Shura Council held its regular weekly session today "Tamim bin Hamad Hall"Chaired by His Excellency Mr. Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, Chairman of the Council. During the session, the council reviewed the report of the Cultural Affairs and Information Committee on Qatar University, which included a summary of the committee’s findings from its study of the responses received from the university about the council’s inquiries about the educational and academic affairs in it. After reviewing the report and discussing its content, in light of the committee hosting a number of university officials and former academics, Their Excellencies the members of the Council praised the excellence that Qatar University has achieved at the academic and research levels, and its contribution to supplying the labor market with distinguished competencies, in addition to its relentless endeavor To serve and support the community and meet its needs, and to carry out research and studies that deal with challenges and support the state’s orientations in construction and development. Their Excellencies members of the Shura Council looked forward to a greater role for the university in supporting the national academic cadre, by appointing Qatari graduates of Qatar University and other local universities who hold master’s and doctoral degrees, to work in the academic staff as teaching assistants and university professors, without requiring their work in external scientific institutions, with the aim of Supporting the national cadre and overcoming obstacles in front of it. The Council also reviewed, in its session today, the report of its delegation’s participation in the work of the third session of the third session of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament, which was held in Cairo last January.
