New Dark Edition of Tata Nexon EV launched! Range of 453 km and battery will be charged in 56 minutes

New Delhi. The country’s leading automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has today launched the new Dark Edition of its famous electric SUV Nexon EV in the domestic market. In this new Dark Edition, the company has included some special features, as well as its exterior and interior have been given black treatment. The new Nexon EV Max Dark Edition is offered in two variants, priced at Rs 19.04 lakh for the XZ+ Luxury trim and Rs 19.54 lakh (ex-showroom) with the 7.2kW charger.

Let us tell you that Nexon EV Max was launched by the company about a year ago, although its Dark, Red Dark, Kaziranga and Jet editions have also been updated slightly but new features have been given in the Dark Edition. It has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Which is the biggest in the segment. Voice assistant, upgraded reverse camera, special EV display theme, wireless connectivity in this electric SUV as features. The company claims that this SUV can now take commands in 6 different languages, which include Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and English.


Apart from the new touchscreen, the interiors have been crafted similarly to the other Dark Edition models. It gets an all-black interior accented by the .EV’s tri-arrow pattern and blue highlights around the AC vents. Even the seats are finished in black with blue stitching, and “DARK” stitching on the head restraints.

Power and Performance The company has not made any major changes in the mechanism of this dark edition. In this, as before, a battery pack of 40.5kWh capacity has been given. Its electric motor generates 143hp power and 250Nm torque. The SUV comes with a certified range of 453 km (ARAI) on a single charge. It gets three driving modes, which include City, Eco and Sport.

charging time The Nexon EV Max Dark gets two chargers as standard – a 3.3kW charger and a 7.2kW charger. The small charger charges the battery from 10 to 100 percent in about 15 hours, while with the heavy charger, it takes 6.5 hours (claimed) to charge from 0-100 percent. This Dark Edition also supports fast charging and the company claims that its battery gets charged from 0-80 percent in 56 minutes with the help of DC fast charger.

These features make it special The Nexon EV Max Dark also gets the same semi-digital instrument cluster with sunroof, air purifier with AQI display, cruise control, wireless smartphone charger, cooled glove box, rear air-conditioning vents, 7-inch Multi Information Display (MID). On the other hand, in terms of safety, it has two airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, anti-lock braking system (ABS). Although this electric version has not been crash tested, its ICE engine model has been given a 5-star rating in Global NCAP crash testing.
