Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy of Ukraine accused of supporting the Russian Federation

The ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is suspected of supporting the Russian Federation due to the distribution of leaflets. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.

“He made pro-Russian propaganda leaflets and printed them at home on his own printer. After that, the former MP distributed them in the Kharkiv region to local residents,” the ministry said in a statement.

The former deputy was accused of having “justified the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine”. The SBU reports that he was a deputy of the third convocation (from 1998 to 2002) of the Communist Party of Ukraine. The name of the accused has not been released.

Recall that in May 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law banning “pro-Russian” parties. These include the opposition platform – For Life, Party of Sharia, Ours, Opposition Bloc, Left Opposition, Union of Left Forces, Power, Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine, Socialist Party of Ukraine, “Socialists” and “Vladimir Saldo Bloc”.
