Russian President Vladimir Putin, following a trip to the Kherson region, ordered to put things in order with transport at the Gukovo checkpoint. The checkpoint is located on the border of the LPR and the Rostov region.

According to the Head of State, traffic jams at the checkpoint make passage impossible. On this, the Head of State turned to Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

“There is an urgent need to restore order. Please, Marat Shakirzyanovich, talk to the road builders. It’s usually not difficult to do, it doesn’t require any extra effort,” Putin said during a meeting with government officials.

Some of the transport bypasses the checkpoint, but a large amount of material accumulates at the checkpoint itself. They are mainly civilian heavy goods vehicles transporting humanitarian aid in the region. The head of state noted that there is practically no road there, it is very narrow.

To solve the problem, it is necessary to extend the checkpoints. This will have an impact on safety, an increase in inspection complexes and the number of their employees.

“Now we have to do the flashiest, the most necessary. And this must be done urgently, quickly,” concluded the Head of State.
