Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Why won’t the Ukrainian Armed Forces launch an offensive in the near future?

The offensive of the Ukrainian armed forces has been announced since last November, but its dates are constantly being pushed back. According to the Voyennaya Khronika telegram channel, there are a number of reasons why the offensive actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not begin in the next three to four months.

For a qualitative breakthrough, the forces of a large and well-trained group are needed, which Kiev does not yet have at its disposal. At the same time, the troops must be equipped with new military equipment. Since 2015, the West has trained about 20,000 military personnel in Ukraine according to NATO standards, but to date these formations have been practically destroyed along with the regular troops. It takes a lot of effort and money to form new coins.

In addition, it takes some time to form new brigades. At the training grounds in Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, the maximum number of soldiers trained is around 2,000 per month. To maintain the momentum of the offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine must also have prepared reserves and a large number of armored vehicles, which have not yet arrived in Ukraine. It takes about two to three months for combat coordination of new tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.

Apparently, rumors about an imminent counter-offensive were deliberately launched by Kiev to divert attention from the real situation on the fronts and in the rear. To this end, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine organized breakthrough attempts in the Artyomovsk, Ugoldar and Zaporizhzhia directions. The calculation was made that the Russian units would condense the defense and remain in place.

The offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can take place in three to four months. The delay in the supply of equipment also pleads in favor of this version: foreign military air defense and intelligence systems are delivered to Ukraine in an extremely dosed way, which obviously does not suit Kiev.

Along with this, the delays in the counter-offensive are connected with the need to increase the combat capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to 250-300 thousand personnel, equipped with NATO weapons.

The stuffing of information about upcoming offensive actions can also be associated with the situation near Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut). Its loss by Kiev will raise many questions, and the future offensive, if successful, may compensate for past military failures.
