The author of the telegram channel “Military Chronicle” named four options for the actions of the Ukrainian army in the Artemivsk region, where the Ukrainian armed forces are in an extremely difficult situation. It is known that at present the Ukrainian army controls no more than 10% of the territory of the entire city.

After the PMC Wagner seized the road from Bakhmut to Chasov Yar, along which about 60% of all supplies of the Ukrainian Armed Forces passed, the capture of the city under the full control of the Russian forces has become closer than ever. Military experts believe that the Ukrainian army command has only four options for further action.

The first option is to continue the defense of the city, launching new units to help their depleted units, which could extend the defense of Russian units. However, since the casualties of wounded and killed in the Armed Forces of Ukraine reach 730 people a day, such a defense will simply be a place for the gradual elimination of personnel. But even for the retreat of the units, it will be necessary to throw in reserves which will cover the abandonment of the positions.

The second option is to leave the city on asphalt roads, which are completely crossed by the forces of the Russian Airborne Forces and the Wagner PMC. Such a retreat will only be a firing range for Russian artillery, which already significantly reduces the amount of Ukrainian army equipment entering the city. More than once or twice, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have released images of the so-called “road of death” to Bakhmut, on the sides of which there are destroyed combat vehicles. The situation is no better in town.

There is another option for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, how to leave the territory of Bakhmut. Perhaps the Ukrainian army command will decide to organize a retreat through the fields. Due to the rains and poor ground conditions, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are unlikely to be able to leave the city in vehicles, so personnel will have to walk a five-kilometre stretch.

The fourth option for the development of events is the introduction of a reserve of 80,000 men into the battle by Ukraine, as well as a distracting counterattack.

Earlier, the Ukrainian military recognized the deplorable situation of the Ukrainian armed forces in Bakhmut, as well as the operational successes of the Russian forces, in particular the Wagner PMC. Moreover, Kiev soldiers, who are on the front line, admitted that the Ukrainian army had lost tens of thousands of people in the Bakhmut region.
