Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Extension of the closure of Sudanese airspace.. except for these flights

The Civil Aviation Authority’s official statement said: “The Civil Aviation Authority is issuing a Notice for Pilots (NOTAM) extending the closure of Sudanese airspace to all air traffic until May 13, with the exception of humanitarian aid flights and evacuation flights for foreign nationals, after obtaining a permit from the competent authorities and the approval of the Sudanese Armed Forces”.

Since the outbreak of the crisis, Sudan has experienced a massive movement of evacuation of foreign nationals. As most countries tended to evacuate their nationals from Sudan, either by air with military flights, or by land via the crossing points between Egypt and Sudan, or by sea via Port Sudan, which overlooks the Red Sea.

The statement pointed out that the Civil Aviation Authority and Sudan Airports Company Ltd. have not specified any alternative airport for Khartoum International Airport.

Earlier in April, the Civil Aviation Authority decided to close the airspace until the 30th of this month.

It should be noted that Khartoum airport has been out of service since the first spark of armed clashes broke out between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, which led to the country being deprived of a vital commercial outlet which controls 5% of the total volume. commercial exchange.
