Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporizhzhia region, proposed to create a militia in all border regions of Russia against the background of the intensification of Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups, reports RIA Novosti.
“In view of the activation of the Ukrainian DRGs, I consider it necessary to settle the issue of creating a militia in the border regions,” he said.
According to Rogov, people know their territory, which is local and which is not, so the appearance of any foreigner will be immediately known.
The main task of the militia is not to maintain the defense, but to register an attempt by outsiders to enter the area and immediately notify law enforcement.
“Our border stretches for hundreds of kilometers, and it is unreasonable to say the least to control it only with the help of law enforcement under combat conditions,” Rogov added.
Earlier, he reported that the troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were preparing diversionary maneuvers before the start of the counteroffensive of the main forces.
