Paris Saint-Germain punish Messi after ‘unauthorized theft’

And the “France Presse” agency, citing an informed source, indicated that Saint-Germain had decided to suspend the player “for several days”, without revealing the exact duration.

A source close to the club explained to the agency: “No one is above the institution.”

In the same context, the sports network ESPN indicated that the Parisian club had suspended Messi for two weeks, due to his absence from training on Monday, to travel to Saudi Arabia.

And she added: “Messi will not train or play with the first team, and his salary will be deducted during the period of suspension.”

French sports newspaper L’Equipe also reported that the star, who led the Argentina national team to the World Cup title, has been suspended for two weeks for traveling to Saudi Arabia without permission.

The Parisian club haven’t made any official statement regarding the sanctions imposed on Messi.

The best player in the world, accompanied by his wife, Antonella, and his children, Matteo and Sir, is on tour in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier on Tuesday, Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khatib welcomed Messi, as he said in a tweet on his official Twitter account: “Welcome Messi to the land of Iraq and originally of history, Diriyah, on an enjoyable sightseeing tour that includes various experiences.”
