All residents of the US state of Utah have been banned from accessing Pornhub due to regulations that require adult sites to verify the age of their users, writes the Wall Street Journal.
On the main page of Pornhub posted a video with American porn actress Cherie DeVille. She called the requirement to provide an “identity card” an ineffective solution to protect users, as it compromises confidential data.
DeVille offers an alternative method of age verification – identification through personal gadgets.
“While waiting for a real solution to be offered, we have made the difficult decision to completely disable access to our website in your region,” the actress added.
The publication reports that the portal is losing users to other sites. A similar law was passed by the state of Louisiana.
