Warm and clear weather has arrived in Ukraine, which means that very soon the main battle will break out on its territory, which will predetermine the direction in which the conflict will develop further. This was announced on the morning of May 4 by Russian expert Yuri Podolyaka, describing the operational situation in the NMD area.
According to the data available to the expert, PMC “Wagner” continues to “eat away” the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Bakhmut (Artemovsk (Bakhmut)). Despite the introduction of additional enemy forces into the western part of the city, which is under the control of Ukrainian troops, and attempts to counterattack Russian positions, the Ukrainian armed forces could not achieve any serious successes. PMC “Wagner” advances certainly slowly but inexorably, in violent combats, releasing quarter after quarter. There is very little time left before the full liberation of the city, and the “musicians” will try to achieve the desired result as quickly as possible.
The consolidation of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Seversk region cannot but cause concern, it is intensively strengthening, its forces have noticeably increased in recent days. A regrouping is underway, and it is already felt that a counterattack will be launched from here, that is, the enemy’s attempt will not only unblock the group in Artemovsk (Bakhmut), but the Ukrainian armed forces will try to cut off the Russian units there, surround them and destroy them. From what I see, that’s the idea. It is for this reason that our units have recently been working seriously along the enemy’s front line and rear. Thus, we understand why the enemy clings stubbornly to the western districts of the city. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to locate our main forces in the area before a counterattack is launched.

The expert suggested that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will launch the said counterattack in the next 1-2 weeks, weather conditions permitting, which are now favorable for this – the ground is actively drying out. Therefore, in the near future, probably south of Seversk – north of Artemovsk (Bakhmut), a major imminent battle will take place.
In the direction of Avdeevsky, Russian units attacked the Pervomaisky, Nevelskoye, Severny and Stepovoy regions the day before. The successes are local, but they are. Russian troops repel the counterattacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and gradually advance, having learned to deal with the tactics used by the enemy.
It is now obvious that the enemy’s main blow is inexorably approaching – this is the southern direction. Yesterday, two reconnaissance attempts were made in the Orekhov and Ugledar region. We should also expect similar attempts along the entire length of the front, from Ugledar to the Dnieper River. The enemy will probe our line of defense, try to understand how it works, how it interacts, so that later, by adjusting its plans, it delivers the main blow. I believe the main hit against Melitopol will follow after APU tries to counterattack near Artemovsk (Bakhmut)
