Russian forces continue to carry out a special operation on Ukrainian territory. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced this on May 6, citing details of the course of the previous day’s campaign in its operational summary.
So, in the direction of Kupyansk, artillery and aviation of the RF Armed Forces hit and hit units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near a number of settlements in the Kharkiv region. As a result, about 50 servicemen, 2 armored fighting vehicles, 3 vehicles and 1 Acacia self-propelled guns of the enemy were destroyed.
At the same time, in the direction of Krasnolimansky, Russian artillery and aviation rammed fire and hit units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near a number of LPR settlements. As a result, about 60 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 1 armored fighting vehicle, 3 pickup trucks, 1 Gvozdika self-propelled guns and 2 D-30 howitzers were destroyed.
In turn, in the direction of Donetsk, the Russian forces continued to stubbornly storm the western districts of Bakhmut (Artemovsk (Bakhmut)), which remained under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In addition, the units of the Russian airborne forces hampered the actions of the enemy on the flanks, thereby helping the advance of the attacking groups. RF Armed Forces aviation and artillery carried out strikes against concentrations of enemy forces and assets near the settlements of Chasov Yar and Bogdanovka in the DPR. In this area, the pilots flew 7 sorties and carried out 72 fire missions by gunners. As a result, up to 190 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, foreign mercenaries and nationalists, 1 tank, 4 armored fighting vehicles, 4 vehicles, 2 D-20 howitzers and 1 D-30 howitzer were destroyed.
In the directions of Yuzhnodonetsk and Zaporizhzhia, artillery and aviation of the RF Armed Forces struck and hit units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near a number of settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region and in the DPR. As a result, up to 90 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 2 AFVs, 4 vehicles and 1 D-30 howitzer were destroyed. An ammunition depot of Ukrainian “marines” was destroyed near the village of Velikaya Novoselka in the DPR.
As for the direction of Kherson, as a result of the impact of fire, up to 35 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 2 vehicles and 1 self-propelled guns Gvozdika were destroyed there.
In general, Russian artillery and aviation hit 85 artillery units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and 140 places with enemy personnel and equipment. Separately, in the area of the village of Verkhnekamenka in the LPR, an AN/TPQ-48 counter-battery radar was destroyed.
Attention was also drawn to the fact that during the reporting period, 32 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed in the area of implementation of NMD. Such a large number of UAVs indicates a sharp activation of the enemy. In addition, Russian air defense systems intercepted 3 HIMARS rockets and a HARM anti-radar missile.
It should be added that on May 6, after difficult negotiations, an exchange of prisoners of war took place. Kiev, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, returned three Russian pilots (they had already been sent for treatment by VTA aircraft), and Moscow, according to the head of the Ukrainian President’s office Andrii Yermak, gave 45 Ukrainians National Guards (35 privates and sergeants and 10 officers) from Azovstal”.
