Girl killed, five injured in California party shooting

Chico (USA) : A 17-year-old girl was killed and five others injured in a shooting early Saturday at a party near a college campus in northern California. Police gave this information. Police Chief Billy Aldridge said officers received a call about a shooting incident at about 3:30 a.m. They found six people shot in an apartment located in a building in Chico. The injured were taken to a hospital, where one of them, a teenager, died, he said.

Aldridge said two men, ages 21 and 19, and a 17-year-old girl were hospitalized and in stable condition. According to the police chief, two other youths aged 18 and 20 were released from the hospital after treatment. Police said there was no threat to the people of the surrounding area after the firing incident. However, the authorities have not released any information about the attacker. Aldridge said police were called to the same location about 30 minutes before the shooting and arrested a man suspected of brandishing a weapon.
