Aboul Gheit: Al-Assad can participate in the Arab League summit

Aboul Gheit said on Sunday: “Syrian President Bashar al-Assad can participate in the League summit if he wishes.”

The Arab League summit will be held on May 19 in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

And Arab foreign ministers on Sunday adopted a decision to send Syria back to take its seat in the League of Arab States, after a 12-year absence.

The Arab League suspended Syria’s membership in 2011 when civil war broke out.

Recently, some Arab countries have resumed dealing with Syria through high-level visits and meetings.
