E&E UAE CEO joins Vodafone board

Vodafone said E&E CEO Hatem Dowidar will remain on its board as long as E& maintains its current 14.6% stake and may appoint a second non-executive member of the board if its stake exceeds 20%.

E&E has previously said it is ready to increase its stake in Vodafone.

New Vodafone CEO Margherita Della Valle said the closer alliance with E& would benefit both companies and bring additional communications expertise to Vodafone’s board.

The two groups said they could offer joint cross-border digital services and solutions for the public sector and multinational organizations, and will explore joint purchasing, drafting closer roaming agreements and technology cooperation. .

E&, which operates in 16 countries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, has increased its stake in Vodafone since its first investment in the group in May 2022.

With the stock underperforming in the market, Della Valle faces pressure to relaunch the group, which operates in Europe and Africa, as well as push ahead with support operations the company says were needed. in key markets such as Great Britain and Italy.
