Many foods can help protect against dementia

Foods rich in antioxidants protect against dementia. This is evidenced by a study conducted at the National Institute on Aging in the United States.

For 16 years, scientists have studied the effects of certain foods on brain cells and concluded that antioxidant-rich foods help protect these cells from aging.

People with high blood levels of lutein, zeaxanthins, and carotenoids are less likely to develop dementia.

There are many foods that provide the body with these substances, including parsley, spinach, broccoli, basil and other leafy greens, sweet peppers, citrus fruits, writes Altapress .
