Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian agro-industrial complex shows positive dynamics, with the agricultural production index at the end of last year amounting to 110.2%.
“In general, the Russian agro-industrial complex shows a very positive trend. Thus, according to the results of last year, the index of agricultural production amounted to 110.2%,” the president said during a meeting on the progress of the field work of the spring.
Putin also pointed out that nearly 158 million tons of grain have been harvested, which is a record figure.
“This has never happened before in recent history,” he said.
The day before, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov had confirmed the extension of the “grain agreement” for two months.
