Smartphone shipments in China to reach 264 million units in 2022

The China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association released the “2023 White Paper on the Development of China’s Satellite Navigation and Location Services Industry” in Beijing on May 18. According to the white paper, smartphone shipments in China will reach 264 million units in 2022, of which 260 million mobile phones support the Peitou function, accounting for about 98.5 percent.

It is reported that in 2022, the overall output value of China’s satellite navigation and location services industry will reach 5.7 trillion yuan, up 6.76 percent from 2021. According to Yi Xiuchang, president of the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association, in the past year, the Peitou system has been more and more integrated into people’s daily lives, and more application scenarios have been created. The usage scale of Peitou system in the market has expanded. Peitou Maps and AutoNavi Maps in the country successively announced the official switch to Peitou priority status. The average daily use of Peitou positioning service has exceeded 360 billion times.
