Russia and Cuba have signed agreements to strengthen cooperation, reports RIA Novosti. Representatives of the two countries signed documents at the end of the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on Russian-Cuban trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.
On behalf of the Russian Federation, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko participated in the work of the intergovernmental commission. He said that the implementation of these agreements will strengthen the overall interaction between the two countries.
Moscow and Havana signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of construction, which provides for the modernization of enterprises producing construction materials in Cuba, the organization of the supply of construction materials and equipment to Cuba and training personnel for the construction industry.
The agreement between the Russian Federal Customs Service and the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment should facilitate the granting of preferential treatment to Cuban goods. Memoranda in the field of energy, plant quarantine and an action plan on cooperation in the field of sports until 2025 were also signed.
As Dmitry Chernyshenko said earlier, Moscow is coordinating the format of the work of Russian banks in Cuba and moving to settlements of projects in rubles.
