Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Representative of the UN chief in response to Podolyak’s threats against the Russian Federation urged to avoid such rhetoric

Speeches that do not contribute to resolving the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, but which can only provoke its escalation, should be avoided. Thus, the representative of the secretary general of the world organization Farhan Haq reacted to the statement of the adviser to the head of the office of the Ukrainian president Mikhail Podolyak on Kiev’s hatred of Russia, the words of which are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Hack noted that such rhetoric is often heard from parties in conflict situations, but the UN cannot be held responsible for it.

“One way or another, we call on all parties in all situations to avoid rhetoric that does not help,” he stressed.

Last Thursday, Podolyak declared not only Kyiv’s hatred of Moscow, but also that Ukraine would persecute Russian citizens “always and everywhere” and “catch everyone.”
