AlphaPet’s own research center (nursery) has launched an innovative Automatic Feed Intake Measurement System (ASIPK) for non-productive animals.
The ASIPC system is installed in the enclosures of the nursery and is a multi-channel hardware complex consisting of compact specialized boxes with measuring equipment for pet food and specially developed software (SW).
To collect and consolidate the information received from the ASIPC, compact weight sensors, miniature 3D RFID tags placed on animal collars and antennae in boxes are used. In addition, ASIPC includes additional interfaces, signal converters, server and software, which makes it possible to carry out comparative and physiological power tests with measurements on a number of important indicators around the clock and simultaneously.
The ASIPC measuring complex is the author’s development of the scientific and production center of Feed Technologies LLC. In terms of characteristics, the complex is not inferior to the best foreign developments in the study of animal feed, and in a number of original solutions it is superior.

What does the ASIPC complex provide and what are its advantages for measuring the palatability of pet food?
The multi-channel ASIPC complex allows you to continuously “see” each animal in the pen separately and in detail. In addition to continuous data display, ASIPC provides continuous transfer of all measurement results from ready-made tables and graphs (in Excel format) to archives on the server in parallel for each pet, as well as automatically recalculated totals for a group of pets in each enclosure. These data are ready-to-use final reports of the results of dietary intake measurements.
In parallel, the following indicators are measured, recorded and recalculated in bowls A and B of each measurement cell:First food selection events; Number of feeding sessions; Weight of food consumed during a meal separately in each bowl; Weight of the average portion consumed during a meal, separately for each food.
The running total displays relative palatability and food palatability.
These results become decisive based on the test results.
Currently, the study was conducted on cats, but this complex can be modified to the size and number of animals required, depending on the capacity and size of the cattery.
The use of the ASIPC complex completely eliminates the human factor in the measurement of food intake, frees personnel from routine work and automatically provides detailed and accurate measurements of all necessary parameters while simultaneously studying comparative food intake in several groups nursery animals.
ASIPC provides comparative measurements with dry extruded foods and all wet foods. Another important advantage of using the ASIPC complex is comfortable continuous feeding for pets, as close to home as possible.
