Hiroshima: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the G-7 Summit and reiterated India’s support for dialogue and diplomatic efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict and humanitarian assistance to the people of Ukraine . Prime Minister Modi tweeted after meeting Mr. Zelensky here, “Met President Zelensky in Hiroshima. We conveyed India’s unequivocal support for dialogue and diplomacy to find a way forward.
We will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Ukraine.” Modi also held a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. The leaders exchanged views on regional developments and global challenges. The two leaders agreed to expand the partnership to new areas, including cooperation in trade and economic fields, civil aviation, renewables, culture, co-production and manufacturing in the defense sector, as well as civil nuclear cooperation. Modi thanked President Macron for inviting him as the guest of honor for Bastille Day on 14 July. The Prime Minister also thanked President Macron for France’s support for India’s G20 Chairmanship.
