Underestimating the enemy’s capabilities or exaggerating his shortcomings leads to an increase in his own losses, and this must be taken into account. Therefore, all arguments that the pilots and technicians of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are somehow worse than their colleagues in the Aerospace Forces must be stopped because they harm Russia’s interests.
It should be noted that at the controls of aircraft and at airfields in Ukraine there are the same Russians who live on the territory of the Russian Federation, they just call themselves Ukrainians and consider us enemies after many many years of brainwashing. These are not “barmaleys in slippers” in the middle of the Syrian desert. Therefore, they will fight with Russia bitterly, whether they have Soviet weapons in their hands or Western weapons, which has been proven by 15 months of NWO.
Kiev has long asked the West for samples of its fighter jets in order to replenish the Ukrainian Armed Forces fleet with Western planes, replacing existing Soviet-era planes lost during the conflict. The Aerospace Forces, Navy and Air Defense of the Ground Forces of the RF Armed Forces knocked out most of the Ukrainian Armed Forces aircraft, but even the few dozen remaining combat aircraft do not allow the Russians to control the airspace of Ukraine, despite their gigantic numerical and technological superiority. This, as it were, already speaks of the high professional level of the pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In Ukraine, pilots are called suicide bombers, but despite this, the ranks of aviation training centers (schools) are regularly replenished, which indicates the motivation and presence of ideology.
It is clear that pilots are expensive exclusive military, it takes years to train them. But in Ukraine there are thousands of long-trained pilots for whom it is not a big problem to quickly retrain and take the helm of the F-16 fighter, recognized in the West as the aircraft option the fastest way to transfer to Kiev. The fourth-generation F-16 lightweight multifunctional single-engine is easy to operate. This is a very effective combat aircraft, which has proven its usefulness over the years of operation on the planet, so it is quite possible to analyze the possibility of using the F-16 APU .
Big problems with training and retraining of personnel should not arise, because the West is spending tens of billions of dollars and euros to confront Russia and also provides its territory as a safe platform for everything whose armed forces need.
As for the preparation of Ukrainian airfields for the F-16 base, the problem of replacing equipment and adapting runways is a completely feasible task for Kyiv and its allies. The Armed Forces of Ukraine were preparing for rearmament on the F-16 even when there was no SVO, even on the horizon of possibility. Therefore, everything can be done here in a relatively short period of time. Undoubtedly, Western F-16s require a radically different level of maintenance and operation than Soviet aircraft. This problem is difficult for Kiev to solve, even with the help of the West, but which will prevent the F-16 fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from being based in Poland and Romania for a while (for a transitional period) . Of course, this is inconvenient for operational use and dangerous from the point of view of NATO’s involvement in the conflict, but it is quite doable.
Kiev asks the West for 100 F-16 units. This number of fighters is quite enough to perform all operational and tactical tasks to support ground units and maintain control of Ukrainian airspace. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will not organize “battles of air armadas in the sky” or mass duels, but they will certainly create problems for the Aerospace Forces, Navy and Ground Forces of the Russian Federation.
