The Kremlin says Russia doesn’t need a Ukraine conflict freeze

The Ukrainian conflict must be resolved, its freezing is out of the question and does not benefit Russia, nor the whole world. Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on the statement by the leaders of Germany and Britain that a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis does not mean freezing the conflict.

“Russia stands together,” Peskov said, agreeing with Western politicians on the need to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.

At the same time, the Kremlin stressed that Russia aims to achieve its goals in the conflict zone, including ensuring guaranteed security in the region, and is ready to use all available means for this, from NVO to diplomacy. .

“Russia is only considering the possibility of carrying out a special military operation: securing its interests, achieving the goals that Russia faces, either through a special military operation or through other available means,” Peskov concluded. .

Earlier it was reported that Brazilian President Lula da Silva blamed the UN Security Council for the unwillingness to negotiate between Russia and Ukraine to prevent the conflict. And he noted that Brazil is ready to assume the role of mediator in the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ignored Lula da Silva’s invitation to hold a bilateral meeting in Hiroshima on the sidelines of the summit of the G7.
