A relevant official of the Chinese State Taxation General Bureau said at a regular press conference held on May 26 that from the point of view of tax big data, great progress has been made in building a national unified market. An analysis of tax big data reveals three features in the creation of a national unified market since 2017. First, inter-provincial trade links strengthened. From 2017 to 2022, the annual growth rate of intra-provincial trade was 12.8 percent and its proportion in all trade increased from 38.2 percent to 39.8 percent.
The second feature is the increase in innovation and information trade. From 2017 to 2022, the annual growth rate of inter-provincial sales of technology services was 28 percent, while the annual growth rate of inter-provincial sales of information services was 22 percent. The third feature is that the role of supporting transportation and logistics has increased markedly, being an important support for the construction of a national unified market. Modern transport and logistics systems have gradually been established.
