Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Chinese scientists create atomic clock that could change the nature of future wars

Chinese scientists have created a highly accurate atomic clock that could change the nature of future wars.

The NIM-TF3 cesium atomic fountain clock, 1.5 meters tall and about the size of a small refrigerator, can be loaded onto a military truck and, after long transportation on rough roads and in other harsh conditions, will still be able to keep time with an error of less than one-fifth of a quadrillionth of a second. It can also operate autonomously for long periods without the need for professional maintenance.

According to SCMP, This feat was once deemed impossible, as only the atomic clocks that set international standard time can achieve this precision, and those clocks are all large and need to be housed in a guarded laboratory against all environmental disturbances.

SCMP points out that this was previously thought to be impossible, as such precision can only be achieved by atomic clocks, which are large and must be housed in a secure laboratory, protected from any external influences.

The high-precision timing system allows the radars to operate in sync to detect and track stealth aircraft. Such clocks also help improve the quality of electronic warfare (EW) signals and facilitate the transmission of large amounts of data.

The NIM-TF3, according to SCMP, could give the Chinese military a significant advantage over the US military in the areas of electronic warfare, directed energy weapons, and unmanned technologies.
