“Egyptian forces… ready for any operation inside or outside” says President Al-Sisi

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi stressed that the Egyptian army is able to defend the country’s national security, inside and outside its borders, while inspecting the elements of the western military region near the border with Libya, reports The Eastern Herald.

Last week Egypt provoked Ethiopean sentiments by stating that Egypt will call for war on the dispute of Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam between the two African countries.

Said Ambassador Bassam Radi, spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, on Saturday, that Sisi loses elements of the western military presence of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and the leaders of the branches of the main armed forces. ”

Addressing the Sisi military said:” The army of Egypt from stronger The armies of the region, but it is a rational army … that protects and does not threaten … and is able to defend Egypt’s national security inside and outside the borders of the homeland, “according to the” Arab Tomorrow “.

This comes against the backdrop of the military escalation in Libya, where the Turkish-backed Al-Wefaq government has achieved tangible field successes recently at the expense of the “Libyan National Army” led by Khalifa Haftar, who has the support of Cairo.

On the sixth of this month, during a press conference with Haftar, and the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament (based in Tobruk), Aqila Saleh, Sisi announced a new initiative aimed at stopping the fighting and launching a political process, and the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Libya.

Many countries in the region and the world welcomed the Egyptian efforts to settle the Libyan conflict, but the government of Al-Wefaq and Turkey rejected the initiative known as the “Cairo Declaration.””
