Product Review Partnerships

The Eastern Herald may consider defined commercial arrangements related to product access, evaluation logistics or production. The precise scope, deliverables, fees and disclosures must be agreed in writing before work begins.

Possible areas of work

  • Product evaluation: consideration of a product for an editorial assessment, subject to editorial selection and available testing scope.
  • Review production: agreed production support or additional formats, with the nature of the work and commercial relationship disclosed.
  • Brand spotlight: a promotional feature that is clearly identified as promotional and kept separate from an independent editorial verdict.

What no package can buy

  • A guaranteed review or publication date.
  • A positive verdict, rating or predetermined conclusion.
  • Removal of fair criticism or control over editorial findings.
  • Undisclosed advertising presented as independent editorial coverage.
  • A guaranteed do-follow link in exchange for payment.

Clear scope and disclosure

Before any paid engagement, the parties should agree on the work to be performed, product access, timelines, deliverables, fees, cancellation terms and how the relationship will be disclosed. Where links are paid or sponsored, they will be handled in accordance with applicable search-engine guidance, including rel=”sponsored” where appropriate.
