Submit your Pitch

Contribute to The Eastern Herald

The Eastern Herald welcomes unsolicited article proposals and blog submissions from writers interested in contributing to our publication. If you would like to be considered, please complete the submission form below.

Important guidelines

All pitches and completed articles must be submitted exclusively through the designated form. Submissions sent elsewhere will not be reviewed.

We value original reporting and sharp, independent analysis above all else. Our editorial focus is centered on the Asia-Pacific region, and submissions aligned with this scope are given priority.

For blog sections, we recommend a length of 400 to 800 words. Feature articles typically range from 1,200 to 1,500 words. Writers planning original reporting are strongly encouraged to pitch their ideas to the editor before submitting a full draft.

Completed articles should be submitted in Word document format, not PDF. Sources should be credited through hyperlinks rather than footnotes or endnotes.

If you are seeking payment, this must be clearly stated in your pitch. Please also disclose whether the article has been published elsewhere. Any compensation must be agreed upon with the editor prior to publication.

Due to the high volume of daily submissions, we are only able to respond to writers whose work is accepted. If you do not hear from us within three business days, you may submit your piece to other outlets.

Please submit each pitch or article only once and avoid sending the same material to multiple editors.

We look forward to reading your work and appreciate your interest in contributing to The Eastern Herald.
