Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Michael Boddenberg becomes Minister of Finance in Hesse

WIESBADEN – The chairman of the CDU parliamentary group, Michael Boddenberg, becomes the new Hessian finance minister. The head of the CDU parliamentary group takes over from Thomas Schafer in the corona crisis. The VRM was confirmed by the parliamentary board.

Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) wants to hand over the 60-year-old Frankfurt to the certificate of appointment on Tuesday. The head of government announced on Monday that he would quickly appoint a successor to Shepherd because of the financial consequences of the Corona crisis. The state parliament will meet on Friday for a special session to confirm Boddenberg in the new office.

Boddenberg, who is considered a close confidant of Bouffiers, has been leading the parliamentary group since 2014. From 2009 to 2014, he was Hessian Minister for Federal Affairs in the State Chancellery.

The 54-year-old shepherd committed suicide on Saturday.
