Already more than 82,000 coronavirus deaths worldwide

Washington (TEH) – According to US experts, around 82,1000 people worldwide have died after being infected with the novel coronavirus. Just under 301,400 recover from infection with the virus and the number of confirmed Sars-CoV-2 infections rose to around 1.4 million worldwide by Wednesday, just before midnight (local time), according to data from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore The university’s website is updated regularly and therefore shows a higher level of confirmed infections than the official figures from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US health authority CDC. In the United States, nearly 2,000 people died in one day after being infected with the coronavirus.

With exactly 1921 deaths within 24 hours, this was the highest increase in a day since the beginning of the crisis. Almost 13,000 people have died in the United States following infection with the Sars-CoV-2 virus. The number of known infections was a good 399,000, according to Johns Hopkins. Among the countries most affected by COVID-19 lung disease, the university has recorded the highest proportion of corona deaths relative to the population in Spain and Italy. In both countries, about 27 people per 100,000 inhabitants died from the virus. In Germany, on the other hand, there were around 2.2 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, in China around 0.2.
