As the Chinese diplomat said, in the face of the global health crisis, the international community must unite and work together to overcome the problem.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman commented on an interview with US President Donald Trump for the Reuters news agency. The US President said he is considering various options for the consequences for China due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, Trump has repeatedly said, “”in Washington, we do not exclude the version that the coronavirus originated in the Wuhan laboratory. ”
The US president also threatened Beijing with consequences if it turns out that there was a deliberate outbreak.
In response, the Chinese Foreign Ministry advised the American leadership to stop the spread of conspiracy theories about the origin of the coronavirus COVID-19. As Geng Shuang said, this is a matter of science, not politics.
The diplomat also said that the “primary attention” of US officials should be “focused on how to prevent and control the epidemic in the country and strengthen international cooperation, and not how to attack and denigrate China or shift the blame.”
A spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry also emphasized that leading experts – including those from the United States – do not support the laboratory version of COVID-19.
