Israel : Preventing Netanyahu from heading the government will be an earthquake

Yuval Steinitz, a Likud party official, affirmed that “if the Supreme Court decides to prevent Benjamin Netanyahu from taking over the government, it will be an earthquake and an unprecedented blow to Israeli democracy.”

According to what was reported (Acre), Steinitz considered that a decision like this means cancelling the election results retroactively, adding: “The court must defend the right to be elected and be elected and not to abolish it.” He explained, “If the court is the guardian of the rule of law, then it is necessary It must respect the laws of the Knesset. ”

The Israeli Supreme Court is scheduled to hold hearings on Sunday and Monday in the coming two days to consider petitions calling for the prevention of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from forming the next government and to cancel the coalition agreement between (Likud) and (Blue and White).
