Sara Björk in the starting line-up when Lyon started the title defense with a victory

French and European champions Lyon started their title defense with a convincing 4-0 victory over Paris FC today. National team captain Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir was in the starting line-up but was taken off the field when almost ten minutes were until the end of the game.

The situation was actually unexpectedly goalless at half time and obviously a bit of rust in the Lyon team, which has no doubt celebrated its victory in the European Champions League recently well and truly. In the latter, Sara Björk and stallions blew trumpets and drove over their opponents.

Center-back Wendie Renard put Lyon ahead after just over ten minutes in the second half. Saki Kumagai added a second goal in the 69th minute and substitute Eugénie Le Sommer scored seven minutes later. It was Kumagi who scored the fourth and final goal with three minutes to go.

The final score 4-0 Lyon in favor and it is clear that the team does not intend to relax after a good exchange rate last season.
