The number of protesters in Minsk exceeded 100 thousand people

Several arrests took place in Belarus before the start of the protest

The number of participants in the “jubilee ” opposition rally in Minsk on the 50th day of protests exceeded 100,000 people, eyewitnesses report.

The protesters from the square near the stele “Minsk – Hero City” headed towards Victory Square, then repeatedly changed their route, as per the information with The Eastern Herald.

Detentions took place in Minsk before the start of the protest action. Also in the capital of Belarus, at the request of the authorities, the speed of the mobile Internet was reduced.

We will remind, in Belarus since August 9, protest actions against the results of the presidential elections have continued. The current head of state, Alexander Lukashenko, who has held this post since 1994, was declared the winner. The opposition does not recognize these results and considers them to be falsified.

The single opposition candidate, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who, according to official figures, won the support of just over 10% of voters, did not recognize the results of the vote.
