Turkey has found another gas field in the Black Sea , which will increase the volume of gas reserves by another 85 billion cubic meters. Turkey plans to start producing gas from the new field by 2023.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this today during a visit to the Fatih drilling ship, which is working in the Black Sea.

“If on August 21 of this year we announced the discovery of 320 billion cubic meters of gas in the Black Sea, then recent studies have allowed us to increase the volume of proven reserves of the new field by another 85 billion, that is, up to 405 billion cubic meters,” he said in his tweet on Twitter.

As Erdogan explained, this will reduce the price of natural gas for the Turkish population.

“We set ourselves the goal of making gas available to our people in 2023,” the Turkish President stressed.

Earlier it was reported that the first gas field research vessel “Fatih” discovered in June 2020. At the same time, experts note that Ukraine will be able to start gas production in the Black Sea not earlier than 10 years later.
